The Clinical Assistant will provide direct care and supervision of patients admitted to the Inpatient Neurobehavioral Unit, implement written behavioral and educational protocols, and collect data on patient-specific target behaviors.
The Clinical Assistants work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities admitted to the inpatient NBU for treatment of severe problem behavior.
The Neurobehavioral Unit primarily serves children, adolescents, and young adults up to age 21; however, we periodically admit individuals over the age of 21. Patients have a variety of diagnoses, including: autism spectrum disorder, developmental delay, intellectual disability, sleep disorders, feeding disorders, stereotypic movement disorder with self-injurious behavior, and various genetic, metabolic and chromosomal disorders. Patients are admitted for the assessment and treatment of severe behavioral problems.
Common types of behavioral problems treated on the NBU include:
- Self-injurious behavior (SIB)
- Aggression
- Destructive or disruptive behavior

The Clinical Director, CBDH will work to provide clinical, administrative, and academic leadership with a focus on advancing measurement-based, patient and family centered care and evidence-based psychotherapeutic practice within the Center for Developmental Behavioral Health and ensure the quality and safety of services delivered. This Post-Master of Psychiatric Social Work (MSW) Fellowship is a two-year program that includes full-time employment with benefits while receiving training in evidence-based models of therapy, supervision/mentorship, and practice providing direct patient care. Fellows will receive focused training in multi-disciplinary evidence-based treatment of children, adolescents, and young adults with mental health conditions.
Participation in the second year will be contingent upon the successful completion of the first-year learning contract. Opportunity for continued employment in the Center for Developmental Behavioral Health at successful conclusion of the program. Candidates must have an LMSW license in good standing with the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners by July 1, 2024 to August 1, 2024. Candidates can also apply while completing their advanced year of their MSW program from an accredited School of Social Work. Acceptance will be pending graduation and obtaining a license in the State of Maryland as an LMSW. Applicants may have up to three years of experience.

The Pediatric Rehabilitation/Feeding Unit provides 24-hour medical, nursing, respiratory and intensive therapy services. The Neurorehabilitation program treats patients ranging from infants to young adults with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, chronic pain disorders, feeding and swallowing disorders, recovering from orthopedic surgery, and complex medical conditions.
This position working Monday through Thursday from 2:00pm-11:30pm.

The Clinical Services Coordinator I will provide support related to patient services in an assigned area. The majority of this position’s work product is directly related to the delivery of patient services, and is focused on providing day-to-day physician and clinic support to meet the needs of the program, clinic, and patients served. Providing mental health therapy to young children. Visits might be in the community, in the clinic at Fairmount or via telehealth.The Clinical Social Worker I provides social work mental health services onsite, via telehealth,
and/or in community-based settings to a wide range of clients from birth to adulthood. Primary clinical responsibility will be children with mental health needs as well as caregivers/parents of patients.
The incumbent may supervise social work trainees and is responsible for providing consultation to other team members as needed
