The Recreational Activities Staff I works independently and demonstrates initiative, discretion and good judgment in planning and implementing social and/or recreational programs which support the development, psychosocial, and cultural needs of patients and siblings. The incumbent is responsible for the supervision of patients and siblings while in the Outpatient playroom and provides observation and assessment of patients, siblings, and parent/child interactions where appropriate.
The Recreational Activities Staff II maintains the overall therapeutic milieu for patients in CL/TR activity programs. The Recreational Activities Staff work predominantly in the evenings and weekends, planning and facilitating social recreational activities for the inpatient population, which support their psychosocial and developmental needs

The Research Assistant I will assist in the execution of scientific studies interrogating cell-type specific epigenetic mechanisms in the developing brain after early life exercise, and other environmental experiences. The Research Assistant I is able to help with day-to-day operations of the lab, carry out or assist other personnel with experiments, assist with collecting and analyzing data, and supervising the work of undergraduates.
The Research Assistant Iwill support research projects and complete the consenting process and eligibility screenings. This position will assist testers with clinical assessments for children and families participating in research. This staff member will work with people and databases. Specific responsibilities include coding, scoring, data entry into databases, and maintaining reliability for coding schema. The incumbent will participate in recruitment, fundraising, and other research-related activities.
The Research Assistant I carry out scientific studies of cellular mechanisms of neuronal injury in the developing brain with Dr. S. Ali Fatemi in the Neurogenetics Laboratory. The Research Assistant I is able to read and understand scientific literature, carry out experiments, assist with planning experiments, assist with analyzing data and make presentations to others about the work.
