The Adaptive Aquatics and Wellness Assistant is responsible for assisting the Adaptive Aquatics and Wellness Coordinator with overseeing all matters related to the aquatics and fitness program. This position will supervise and assist with the safe implementation of all student water-based and land-based activities, staff training, pool and fitness area maintenance, and equipment procurement. The incumbent will also help to lead and guide staff members assigned to support students in the pool and other fitness activities.

This para-professional will support students with the development of pro-social behaviors by adhering to Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and implementing appropriate behavior management strategies/supports. This position assists with the adaption of instruction to meet the individual, academic, medical, developmental, and technological needs of the assigned student(s). This staff member will support the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and other various state curriculum. Responsible for group work; teaching Lifeskills and independence; recording data; providing basic medical support; organizing and preparing materials; and participating in meetings and professional development. The incumbent may also drive Institute vans and may engage in water based activities.

The Powder Mill (Beltsville, MD) campus of Kennedy Krieger School serves students in grades 2-8 who are working toward a high school diploma, and students aged 7-21 who are seeking a certificate of completion.

The Pre-Kindergarten Teacher will use evidence-based treatment methods for preschoolers at heightened risk for or diagnosed with developmental delays. This staff member will provide on-site early childhood developmental enrichment/education and interventions to enrolled children. Instruction will be differentiated to learner needs, and aligned with the curriculum. The incumbent will lead in the implementation of all educational plans, monitor student progress, provide behavior support and manage the classroom to include training of caregivers/assistants and complete regulatory forms as required by funding agencies.
*This is a year round, 12 month program. The hours are 8am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday.
**$500 Hiring Incentive and $250 Retention Bonus**
The Therapeutic Assistant I will implement evidence-based treatment protocols in a group, dyad, and 1:1 setting under the direction of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. This staff member will interact daily with children, encourage language, social, and self-regulatory development. The incumbent will collect progress and treatment response data; organize the classroom; prepare teaching materials; and assist with parent communication and training.
