The Assistant Director, Office of Health, Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity will oversee the implementation, training, and evaluation of the health, equity, inclusion, and diversity program plans in coordination and collaboration with the Chief Diversity Officer. The Assistant Director develops, modifies, and maintains employment and recruitment practices to support diversity, inclusion, regulatory, and business requirements. Develops training programs and educates staff about bias and the use of anti-racism strategies. Recognizes and defines opportunities to enhance diversity in the workforce. Hires, coaches, mentors and develops employees in regard to diversity issues in research. Offers effective recruitment and retention staffing solutions. Assists the Chief Diversity Officer and works in collaboration with the EDI Steering Committee and Councils to develop culturally-relevant and evidence and equity-based strategies to support employees, trainees, and patients at Kennedy Krieger Institute. Develops and updates curriculum for the Center for Diversity Learning Management System with Chief Diversity Officer and Co-Director of the Center for Diversity. Assists in selecting and mentoring Center for Diversity scholars. Reports to Chief Diversity Officer/Vice President.

The Child Life Specialist is responsible for the supervision of patients and siblings while in the outpatient playroom. The Child Life Specialist plans and implements social and/or recreational programs which support the development, psychosocial and cultural needs of the patients and siblings. The Child Life Specialist utilizes a family centered care approach in assuring the psychosocial needs of the patient and caregivers are met by providing education on medical procedures and conditions, offering emotional support and creating opportunities for normal growth and development.

The Child Care Teacher I is responsible for providing care for all aspects of their assigned age group and works as a team leader when the Child Care Teacher II is unavailable by supervising the implementation of the daily curriculum to assure that all accreditation and state licensing standards are being met. The Child Care Teacher I is responsible for ensuring that all parent, child and classroom staff concerns are appropriately addressed.
This positions works Monday-Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM depending upon the needs of the center.
PACT’s World of Care specialized child care center is designed to meet the individual needs of children who have medical conditions requiring daily nursing care and children with developmental disabilities who require multiple therapies (physical, occupational, or speech/language).
While we accept typically developing children, priority for admission is given to children who are medically fragile or developmentally delayed or disabled.
World of Care is accredited by the Maryland State Department of Education and licensed by the Maryland Office of Child Care Administration

This staff member works as a team member with mental health and early intervention therapists to promote the social emotional and overall developmental wellbeing of the infants and toddlers who are enrolled. The position is responsible for ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable childcare space that is conducive to quality parent/child interactions and exceptional educational experiences.

Southeast Early Head Start Program is a delegate agency of the Maryland Family Network, and is licensed by the Maryland State Department of Education’s Office of Child Care.
The Child Development Teacher (Bilingual-Spanish) will be primarily responsible for teaching and providing high quality childcare while parents engage in meaningful activities at the Early Head Start (EHS) center. This staff member will plan and present accurate and engaging lessons to enrolled children.
The position is responsible for ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable childcare space that is conducive to quality parent/child interactions and exceptional educational experiences. This position requires the incumbent to be bilingual in English and Spanish with a proficiency level that meets the Institute’s minimum standards.

The Neurobehavioral Unit primarily serves children, adolescents, and young adults up to age 21; however, we periodically admit individuals over the age of 21. Patients have a variety of diagnoses, including: autism spectrum disorder, developmental delay, intellectual disability, sleep disorders, feeding disorders, stereotypic movement disorder with self-injurious behavior, and various genetic, metabolic and chromosomal disorders. Patients are admitted for the assessment and treatment of severe behavioral problems.
Common types of behavioral problems treated on the NBU include:
- Self-injurious behavior (SIB)
- Aggression
- Destructive or disruptive behavior
