The Special Eduction Teacher will teach a varied population of students in a full day non-public setting. The Teacher implements the program as outlined in the IEP of each student, adapting instruction to differing academic, medical, developmental, and technological needs of the students and adheres to the curriculum as identified by MSDE. Additionally, the Teacher demonstrates understanding of and commitment to the KKI mission, helping students achieve their potential and participate as fully as possible in family, school and community life while striving to excel in providing safe and effective care of the highest quality.
Southern Maryland Campus of Kennedy Krieger School Programs serves students in grades K-8 who are working toward a high school diploma and students aged 5-21 who are seeking a certificate of completion.
We are a nonpublic special education day program. We operate on an 11-month program schedule.

At the Kennedy Krieger School: Greenspring Campus High School, our mission is to empower students with diverse abilities to learn and develop lifelong skills while providing a safe and nurturing educational environment staffed by highly skilled, collaborative and dedicated professionals working in partnership with the home, workplace and community.
Our 11-month program focuses on building essential skills based on standards and curricula identified by the Maryland State Department of Education. In addition, instruction in art, music, physical education and fitness, health, life and social skills, career exploration and development and vocational skills round out the course of study.
We are a nonpublic special education day program approved by the Maryland State Department of Education.
This is a full-time position- seasonal/summer opportunities are not available.
The Therapy Assistant (Therapeutic Assistant) works with young children with autism and/or related social-language delays in small group speech therapy alongside a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP). Treatment sessions focus on communication, social, emotional, and self-regulatory development. Sessions also include push-in occupational therapy services to work on fine and gross motor skills as well as sensory integration and regulation.
Group sizes range from three to five children under the age of six and meet between 3-4 times per week for ninety minutes to two and a half hour sessions. All children have individualized treatment plans and are thoughtfully placed in groups with children working on similar skills. An ability to build relationships and work consistently with many of the same children over a period of time is emphasized. Parental involvement is encouraged and supported through guided observations and regular observation days.
