We are seeking a Maryland licensed, certified speech-language pathologist to provide direct and consultative services to students in our non-public school programs. SLPs at Powder Mill Campus work with and support students with autism and other developmental disabilities in grades 2-8 working toward a high school diploma and students aged 7-21 who are seeking a certificate of completion. The ideal SLP candidate is collaborative, organized, curious and hardworking. We are seeking SLPs who approach their work in an evidence-based, student-centered manner. While prior clinical experience and knowledge about developmental disabilities and the IEP process are preferred, candidates who are eager to learn will be considered. The SLP-I will provide speech and language services to a varied population of students in a full day non-public setting or public-private partnership setting. The Speech Language Pathologist II (Bilingual-Arabic) will provide direct patient care for assessing and treating communication (i.e. speech/language) and oral motor disorders: administering department and program functions; may supervise graduate students and Clinical Fellows; maintaining documentation relative to services offered; and participating in intra- and interdisciplinary training programs.This position requires the incumbent to be bilingual in English and Arabic with a proficiency level that meets the Institutes minimum standards.

The Staff Research Scientist will investigate, identify, develop, implement, and monitor systems to ensure that the assigned research projects/studies comply with Institutional Review Board (IRB) standards, scientific procedures, and stay within timelines for the Center for Autism Services, Science, and Innovation (CASSI, formerly known as the Center for Autism and Related Disorders, or CARD). This professional will independently evaluate and select techniques, protocols, and research methods under direction of the Principal Investigator (PI) (Dr. Landa). This person will conduct research assessments and related research activities to include coding data, conducting interrater reliability trials, preparing summaries for families and making appropriate clinical referrals while serving as the key interface/collaborator. The incumbent will train, orient, and supervise research staff and Trainees; oversee the technical aspects and design of projects/studies, prepare progress reports for the PI, author papers, present at conferences, and assist with the preparation of National Institutes of Health (NIH) reports and grant submissions.

The Patient Services, NBU Programs, oversees the In/Outpatient admissions process for the NeuroBehavioral In and Outpatient Programs, including guiding families through the admission process, obtaining third party payer authorizations/recertifications; managing program waiting lists; maintaining contact with all members of the interdisciplinary team, referral sources and families as necessary.
