The Classroom Assistant provides direct support in a classroom setting to students with developmental disabilities and/or emotional/behavioral challenges. Work in collaboration to implement behavioral, instructional, socio-emotional, daily living skills, and/or medical protocols under the over-sight of behavior specialists, classroom teacher/administrators, and related service providers.   The Powder Mill (Beltsville, MD) campus of Kennedy Krieger School serves students in grades 2-8 who are working toward a high school diploma, and students aged 7-21 who are seeking a certificate of completion.      

The Southern Maryland Campus of Kennedy Krieger School Programs serves students in grades K-8 who are working toward a high school diploma and students aged 5-21 who are seeking a certificate of completion.   We are a nonpublic special education day program. The swim coach will develop and implement swimming programs for a wide range of physically challenged participants including ambulatory and wheelchair athletes.   This is a part time position with varied hours such as Wednesday 4:00am -6:00am Saturday 9:00am to 12:00 noon

The Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment Specialist (CIA Specialist) provides direct and indirect curriculum, instruction, and assessment services to students.  The CIA Specialist works collaboratively with academic staff to assess students' instructional strengths and needs to provide appropriate curriculum, instruction and assessment, which align with students' Individual Educational Programs (IEP) and with federal, state, and regional standards.  CIA Specialists further support student learning by providing training, mentoring, and technical assistance regarding evidenced-based intervention to academic staff.   The CIA Specialist provides support to the school Administration by participating in all appropriate school and department level meetings as required.

The Instructional Assistant I will perform duties that are instructional in nature and will deliver services to students in a classroom setting under daily direction of an early intervention teacher. This staff member will interact daily with children, encourage language, social, and self-regulatory development. The incumbent will collect progress and treatment response data; organize the classroom; prepare teaching materials; and assist with parent communication and training.
