    The Behavior  Psychologist I may provide psycho-diagnostic assessments, clinical services, skill building and psychological treatment services to outpatient clients at CARD. The Psychologist I will also provide training to parents, paraprofessionals and professionals, and provide technical assistance in educational settings. Primary clinical responsibilities will be for patients aged 2 through young adult.

    Responsibilities

    1. Provide direct fee for service in the CARD clinic to include behavioral treatment, skill building (individual sessions, consultations, dyads and groups, child and/or child/family), and psycho-diagnostic assessment (behavioral assessment, psychological testing).
    2. Participate in interdisciplinary staff meetings as needed to discuss and evaluate the diagnoses and treatment/management of patients and formulate treatment plans.
    3. Provide interpretative information to parents and/or primary caregivers (including teachers, therapists); may provide short-term counseling to parents for effecting changes in child management.
    4. Initiate and participate in innovative programs and research projects.
    5. Assist the Department Director and Clinical Director in the development of research initiatives upon request.
    6. Design, conduct and deliver consultations through technical assistance or conferences as requested nationally, regionally, locally for a variety of professionals.
    7. Assist in preparation of manuscripts and grant proposals for submission.
    8. Enter reports and patient correspondence into the Electronic Health Record,  including entering test data into the department database
    9. Maintain productivity and reporting standards.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION:

    • Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited college or university.
    • At least one year of Post doctoral fellowship is required.

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Minimum of 1 year of experience in working with a population of mentally and physically disabled children that may be satisfied through postdoctoral training in psychology.
