Overview

The Behavioral Data Specialist I will participate as a team member that assists in the assessment and treatment of severe problem behavior or feeding disorders in individuals including those with intellectual and developmental disabilities guided by behavior analytic principles. The incumbent will participate in the process under the supervision of a faculty-level Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA-D), Licensed Psychologist, and/or BCBA.

Responsibilities

  1. Actively apply principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to assess and treat severe problem behavior and/or feeding disorders. This includes identifying the function of problem behavior via functional behavioral assessment (including functional analysis); developing and generalizing function-based treatment for problem behavior; conducting parent, staff, and school training; collecting, graphing, and analyzing behavioral data; and safely and effectively implementing behavior management techniques.
  2. Assist primary therapist in the setup and breakdown of session-related activities (preparing patient, room, computers, recording equipment, patient materials, etc.).
  3. Provide direct patient care following the prescribed behavioral protocols.
  4. Assume primary therapist responsibilities in the temporary absence of the primary therapist.
  5. Complete assigned administrative duties as needed to assist with overall program operations.
  6. Assist with protocol monitoring as needed.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, or allied discipline is required.
  • In very select circumstances, very specific and significant training, experience, and knowledge of applied behavioral analysis and implementing behavioral protocols with pediatric patients will be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree. This exception will only be made at the Program Director’s discretion with approval from the head of the department.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous experience in the implementation of behavioral assessment and treatment procedures with persons with severe problem behavior, intellectual, and developmental disabilities, and/or autism spectrum disorder is highly preferred.

 

Minimum pay range

USD $34,195.20/Yr.

Maximum pay range

USD $54,361.63/Yr.
