The Family Advocate I provides direct services, in the center and in the home, to help families access resources (e.g.  housing, economic, transportation, education, employment, etc.).

1. Screen children and their families to assess barriers to success in reaching individual and family goals.
2. Link children and families to resources and services that will help them in overcoming identified barriers.
3. Provide family education and support services as needed.
4. Assist participant families to gain increased empowerment in utilizing resources and activities to address family goals, with the emphasis on self-sufficiency.
5. Maintain complete and current rerecords on all participant families, including progress towards the child’s goals and parent’s progress toward family service goals.
6. Facilitate parent/child activities when applicable by selecting and applying the appropriate tools and curriculum.
7. Collaborates with Special Education teachers, Social Workers, and families to ensure continuity of services.
8. Attends and actively participates in all staff meetings and trainings.

• Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred.
• Must hold and maintain CPR certification.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with pregnant women, families, and children ages 0-3.
• Experience in home visiting preferred.
