Overview

The Data Analyst provides assistance with manuscript preparation and progress reports for Principal Investigators, including data analysis, reduction, and interpretation. The incumbent provides research support to departmental investigators and serve as the main point of contact for research coordinators from external collaborators. This staff member will be involved in the development of database and front-end systems for data collection and corresponding training materials. Additionally, this position is responsible for training staff on and overseeing routine data cleaning, scoring, entry, and reporting; assisting with patient and research records management; and evaluations. The incumbent will maintain departmental standards in addition to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements.

Responsibilities

1. Prepare data for analytic efforts by consolidating data, reviewing quality and accuracy, cleaning, and creating final datasets for analysis.
2. Prepare analytical reports by organizing, tabulating, and summarizing data for clinical operations and research projects and provide contextualized interpretations with minimal supervision.
3. Create queries in the CAARE database (i.e., clinical research registry) and work with the clinical staff who manage the CAARE database activities (e.g., mailings, posting fliers, contacting outside agencies, contacting past patients) in order to assist with subject recruitment.
4. Ensure overall quality of data with regular audits.
5. Oversee and contribute to the development of data collection and reporting systems, including surveys, databases, front-ends, and reports.
6. Contribute to the development, maintenance, and implementation of data collection standards consistent with Institutional Review Board (IRB), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and the Center for Autism Services, Science and Innovation (CASSI) standards.
7. Contribute to and oversee the development and maintenance of documentation for data systems and standards.
8. Design and develop staff training materials. Provide training to new and current staff in the use of the CASSI data systems. Oversee and train data entry staff in data cleaning, scoring, and entry.
9. Contribute to or undertake the development, administration, customization, maintenance, and integration of the database systems.
10. Provide administrative support as needed, including inventorying, videotaping sessions, and study coordination. clean, check inventory, and replenish testing kits for of assessments and questionnaires.
11. Complete general office duties to include but not limited to copying, mailing, and collating.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:
• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, biostatistics, data analytics, or experimental research is required.
• Master’s degree in related field preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum 3 years of research experience required. A Master’s degree in a related field may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience.
• Experience working with families and children preferred.

Minimum pay range

USD $56,157.50/Yr.

Maximum pay range

USD $97,597.76/Yr.
