The Research Assistant I will conduct rehabilitation research, data collection, analysis, and interpretation for various research studies and grants with a focus on pediatric brain tumors.
1. Coordinate the collection of primary outcome data from multiple team members. Participate in meetings to coordinate data collection and management.
2. Assist with data tracking to ensure accurate data collection, adjudication, and data entry.
3. Maintain and manage research databases of study participants.
4. Conduct semi-structured telephone interviews for screening and/or to obtain outcome data for clinical studies. May perform educational, developmental, or other forms of testing as required with research participants.
5. Coordinate Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications and maintain regulatory documents for IRB compliance for research projects. Assist with carrying out research protocols.
6. Score, code, and verify data.
7. Recruit research subjects and coordinate visits. Meet with research participants and their parent and/or guardian to review and obtain consent for participation.
8. Analyze behavioral data, generate reports, and build queries.
9. Assist with planning and developing survey instruments.
10. Participate in development of grant proposals and manuscript preparation including, but not limited to, conducting literature searches, performing data analyses, and assisting in the writing of manuscripts and grants.
11. Schedule and participate in research meetings.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree required.
EXPERIENCE:
• Experience coordinating investigator-initiated research protocols preferred.
• Professional experience in a pediatric setting preferred.
