Overview

The Biomedical Engineer III will collaborate on clinical research studies of children and adults with motor disorders from neurological damage in the Center for Movement Studies; independently manage and conduct research projects; independently develop testing protocols and analysis; assume responsibility for
safety and upkeep of specialized laboratory equipment; present findings at research meetings; and mentor junior staff, graduate students, and postdocs on
research design, use of specialized equipment, and analysis.

Responsibilities

1.  Generate system enhancements to advance technical aspects of clinical and research practices through direct effort and leadership.
2. Conduct and supervise clinical and research studies involving non-invasive brain stimulation, MRI, EEG, or Motion Capture.
3. Participate in analysis and design of systems.
4. Prepare for and conduct verification and validation activities.
5. Develop quality standards and policies to meet or exceed regulatory requirements with proper documentation and compliance.
6. Direct, coordinate, and govern all functions to provide safety testing, maintenance of electronic communication, and biomedical patient care equipment.
7. Create and oversee workflows for testing study participants.
8. Serve as liaison between research groups and collaborators.
9. Collaborate on research design, grant writing, and creation of research papers.
10. Research, implement, automate, and verify data analysis methods.
11. Provide direct oversight and quality control for research laboratory procedures and staff.
12. Assist in supervision of laboratory personnel as directed.
13. Implement novel management strategies within the research laboratory.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:
• Master’s degree in neuroscience, biology, biomedical engineering, or engineering required.
• PhD in related field highly preferred.


EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum 5 years professional experience managing clinical research involving devices.
• Minimum 5 years professional experience using non-invasive brain stimulation in a clinical research setting.

Minimum pay range

USD $82,048.10/Yr.

Maximum pay range

USD $146,883.36/Yr.
