Overview

The Program Manager, Center for Excellence in Public Health Leadership oversees day-to-day operations and program activities in the department. The incumbent provides curriculum coordination; coordinates and manages communications in the program and with institution, community partners, and sponsor(s); and oversees the application process, recruitment, onboarding, and mentoring of trainees. This position developing reports for federally funded training grants, data tracking, and overall research support, to include uploading and tracking revised evaluation forms, tracking renewal submission dates, assisting with grant applications, and acquiring information necessary for letters of support and contracts. The incumbent acts as a strategic problem-solver who identifies and provides appropriate solution options to department leadership.

 

Responsibilities

  1. Manages and organizes grant activities, including updating timeline of activities (e.g., subcontracts, recruitment of mentors and students, federal reports, housing, travel, student registration, Institutional Review Board updates) and responsibilities for the team. Shares updated timelines and responsibilities with team and implements efficient strategies to accomplish goals, delegate when necessary, and track through to completion of activities. Identifies barriers and solutions to timely completion of grant activities.
  2. Ensures up-to-date and accurate information is posted on the Kennedy Krieger Institute website, including development and updates to trainee recruitment communications and information. Ensures that program-related information documentation is updated in Microsoft Teams.
  3. Drafts the program content sections of federal reports for funded grants, ensuring compliance with the Institute and federal requirements and submission dates.
  4. Tracks completion of subcontracts through coordination and communication with the Institute’s grants management office, Training Administration department, Human Resources, and administration to meet daily operating needs.
  5. Manages overall day-to-day operation of grant and mentor and student-related activities across national training sites (e.g., evaluations, housing contracts, travel, and conferences). Coordinate and implement student and mentor recruitment strategies.
  6. Organizes an efficient system to manage, coordinate, and track student application reviews and phone interviews for the Institute site. Train reviewers in the scoring protocol. Scores student applications and participates in student interviews.
  7. Tracks and understands the registration process for scholars. Ensures completion of competencies, program requirements, housing, and travel.
  8. Mentors Center for Excellence trainees towards training, academic, and career goals.
  9. Completes curriculum development, implementation, and updates for Learning Management System.
  10. Ensures rooms are scheduled and that audio/visual equipment and support are available as needed.
  11. Manages updates of the center training program applications and recruitment reports.
  12. Maintains Center for Excellence database, including entering and ensuring accuracy of program activities (e.g., didactic training and conference presentations) and products (e.g., submitted and published manuscripts) entered in the National Information Reporting System (NIRS). Codes data for behavioral measure administration and data analysis, maintaining reliability with other research team members and writing summaries of research results.
  13. Writes, formats, and drafts peer-reviewed publications, including literature searches, data collection, table preparation, and informational bulletins in conjunction with Center for Excellence Directors.
  14. Manages the Institutional Review Board documentation and annual approved project renewal process.
  15. In collaboration with the center director, disseminates information about training programs by drafting policies and procedures, memoranda, bulletins, etc.
  16. Provides administrative support for special projects and meetings as needed, and takes and disseminates minutes as directed.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Master’s degree in business, communications, administrative studies, social services or research administration required. Experience in public health or social sciences field above and beyond the minimum requirement may be substituted the degree requirement at the discretion of department leadership.
  • MPH/MBA preferred.
  • D. preferred

 

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience required, preferably in a research, social services, or medical setting.

Minimum pay range

USD $63,391.54/Yr.

Maximum pay range

USD $112,127.18/Yr.
