Position Summary

The Manager, Occupational Therapy oversees the delivery and development of occupational therapy services within a specific department at Kennedy Krieger Institute. This includes clinical care, staff supervision, program development, compliance, and interdepartmental collaboration.


Key Responsibilities

  • Program Oversight: Manage daily operations, develop programs, and lead quality improvement initiatives.
  • Staff Supervision: Oversee occupational therapy staff, conduct performance reviews, and support hiring/training.
  • Clinical Care: Provide direct patient care, develop treatment plans, and maintain a caseload.
  • Training & Support: Mentor staff, ensure competency, and track training compliance.
  • Liaison Role: Act as a bridge between OT leadership and other departments.
  • Documentation: Ensure high-quality, compliant clinical documentation.
  • Productivity & Scheduling: Monitor department productivity and scheduling accuracy.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Participate in team conferences and staff development.
  • Quality Improvement: Assist in designing and implementing improvement activities.
  • Epic System Leadership: Lead documentation updates and staff training in Epic.
  • Expansion Projects: Support logistics and planning for department growth.
  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Collaborate with recruiters and manage onboarding logistics.

Qualifications

  • Licensure: Must be a licensed Occupational Therapist in Maryland.
  • Certification: CPR certification required.
  • Education: Bachelor’s in Occupational Therapy required; Master’s preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years clinical experience (2+ in pediatrics); supervisory experience required.

Minimum pay range

USD $95,340.00/Yr.

Maximum pay range

USD $146,883.00/Yr.
