The Summer Works Staff will work in various departments in the Institute contributing to business operations in a courteous, professional and responsible manner. Responsibilities may include administrative support, facilities support, research support, educational support and/or patient care aide dependent on the department in which the individual is working.

1. Provides general supervision of patients in the play areas.
2. Interacts and engages with children in an environment that is welcoming, stimulating, and child oriented.
3. Maintains the safety, cleanliness, and orderliness of the playroom toys, supplies, and equipment.
4. Provides daily record of patient care activities.
5. Decorates the playroom areas to reflect patients’ artwork.
6. Provides physical care (e.g., toileting, personal hygiene, etc.) appropriate to patient level of adaptive skills and needs.
7. Maintains patient confidentiality, respects patient rights, and models appropriate behaviors in the presence of patients and their families.
8. Completes medical, behavioral, and other in-service training as needed.

At minimum, individual must be currently enrolled in a high school education program or equivalent.

Qualifying candidates are students in high school (16 years or older before their start date AND going into 11th or 12th grade) or college students (undergraduate only and cannot be graduating Spring or Summer 2025).
