Overview

The Director, CASSI Community Programs will provide input, leadership, support, execution, and guidance on community-engaged research and professional development initiatives in collaboration with department leadership and CASSI Outreach and Training. The incumbent will provide oversight of assigned community-engaged research initiatives; develop protocols, procedures, and measures; establish and maintain community partnerships to support the mission and vision of CASSI and Kennedy Krieger Institute; supervise staff; lead community recruitment efforts; and act as a liaison with other CASSI and Institute programs.

Responsibilities

1. Oversee the operations of assigned community-engaged research initiatives.
2. Develop, build, and maintain community partnerships related to CASSI’s mission, research, and training initiatives. Identify and connect with potential partners and engage in appropriate outreach.
3. Oversee grant management for community partnership initiatives, including grant writing, IRB applications, progress reports, and manuscript preparation.
4. Oversee and assist with recruitment of community-based participants for research.
5. Develop and conduct trainings for research staff and trainees related to specified study protocols, and for general lab and research procedures (e.g., scoring, consenting, archiving data, telephone screening).
6. Develop and implement trainings, measures, and procedures related to execution of grant and contract protocols.
7. Monitor project progress, investigate and identify barriers, and implement solutions related to IRB, study, protocol, and data issues.
8. Develop, execute, and continuously monitor systems and research protocols for specific research projects/studies to ensure that Institutional Review Board (IRB) and scientific requirements are met, confidentiality is maintained, the consent processes are followed, and data accuracy is maintained.
9. Coordinate research protocols with Principal Investigators (PIs) and internal/external study coordinators.
10. Oversee preparation and submission of materials for IRB applications and renewals, ensuring materials are submitted according to applicable deadlines. Oversee preparation of progress reports for the PI and assist in the preparation for funding agency reports and grants.
11. Provide supervision and guidance to assigned staff and trainees ensuring they maintain progress on projects in order to meet goals.
12. Oversee and participate in grant and project implementation. Take a leadership role on managing funded grants as needed.
13. Provide strategic leadership to and oversee work of the CASSI Neurodiversity Affirming Care Committee (NDACC). Develop and implement practices, policies, and structures to ensure that staff work effectively to reach committee and department goals.
14. Oversee department implementation of a scientific approach to collaboration and technical assistance in schools and early childhood education settings.
15. Provide research and contract child and classroom evaluations and treatment, conduct child/parent training, and complete required documentation.
16. Promotes and participates in interdisciplinary training as an individual and as a department within and outside the Institute.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:
Master’s Degree required.

 

EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum five years of related experience in grant management, scientific research, or community outreach required.
• Minimum two years of supervisory experience required.

USD $91,952.43/Yr.

Maximum pay range

USD $165,643.09/Yr.
