The Graphic Design Specialist will create high-quality, imaginative digital and print marketing communication content and materials, ensure brand consistency, and adhere to project budgets and timelines under the guidance of the Digital Communications Designer. The incumbent will create print materials (e.g., brochures, flyers, signage), digital assets (e.g., website graphics, email graphics, social media visuals), and artwork for promotional items. This position will prepare files for print production and digital use, collaborate with internal and external partners, direct photo shoots, and manage image assets. Additionally, the incumbent will stay up-to-date with design trends, tools, and best practices for accessible design.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop concepts and designs for digital and print marketing communications, ensuring high-quality graphics and brand consistency, under the guidance and direction of the Digital Communications Designer.
  2. Create concepts, designs, and production work for traditional print materials such as direct mail pieces, publications, flyers, brochures, trade show displays, signage, etc.
  3. Develop digital assets including, but not limited to, website and email graphics, infographics, digital signs, social media assets, email mastheads and templates, animation and online advertisements, animated GIFs, etc.
  4. Recommend promotional and gift items to enhance brand recognition. Design and submit brand-compliant artwork to proper specifications.
  5. Prepare and post files for print production utilizing understanding of print production standards. Review proofs and conduct press-checks to ensure accuracy and quality.
  6. Participate in meetings with internal clients to understand design needs, generate ideas, and present concepts and designs.
  7. Collaborate with agencies, vendors, and freelance talent to create and execute marketing and fundraising communications.
  8. Create or edit images and graphics as needed. Conduct image and graphic searches using stock photography sites or the Institute’s digital asset management system, Webdam, to provide options and recommendations for imagery.
  9. Assist with Webdam maintenance and participate in Webdam administrator meetings.
  10. Develop photography shot lists, schedule photo shoots, scout locations, art direct photo shoots, take photos, select final images, and ensure images are available in the Institute’s digital asset management system (Webdam).
  11. Create brand-compliant designs and templates using programs such as Canva, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word for employees across the Institute to use.
  12. Use department project management tools such as WorkZone and Monday to keep track of the status of all jobs assignments in progress or under development.
  13. Stay updated with design trends, tools, and technologies, and seek opportunities to enhance design processes. Implement best practices for accessible design principles and ensure compliance with
    Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Digital Design, Art, Advertising, English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Computer Science, Liberal Arts, or related field of study is required.
  • Graduate level coursework in related field is a plus.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum two years of professional experience in art direction and/or graphic design required.
  • Experience working within a non-profit or healthcare environment is preferred.
  • Experience with project management tools (i.e., Workzone and Monday) is preferred.

Minimum pay range

USD $48,925.76/Yr.

Maximum pay range

USD $83,900.75/Yr.
