Overview

Looking for OT interested in part-time (20 hours) and able to work 2-630 pm.

 

The Occupational Therapist II will perform evaluation and subsequent planning, execution, and supervision of therapy programs for persons with sensory motor or neuromotor dysfunction.  The Occupational Therapist will participate in intra-disciplinary and interdisciplinary training programs for affiliating students, staff, and community agencies, clinical supervision of Occupational Therapy (OT) students, COTAs, and volunteers/aides, and maintain appropriate patient records.  The Occupational Therapist II develops and/or coordinates patient and staff education programs within area of specialty and assures continuity in clinical and patient education programs and demonstrates leadership and high level of expertise in their specialty area. Has the potential to participate in clinical research within specialty area.  

Responsibilities

  1. Evaluate assigned patients by demonstrating the ability to acquire information about a client’s functional skills, roles and context. Prioritize needs and analyze information obtained from the occupational profile to begin the treatment planning process.
  2. Develop treatment plans consistent with best practices, well-grounded in evidence and utilizing clinical reasoning.
  3. Execute client-centered, meaningful and effective treatment plans that progress client towards long term goals.
  4. Select well-reasoned intervention strategies and approaches that are developmentally appropriate, meaningful and support the appropriate frame of reference/model.
  5. Recognize and consistently respond in a therapeutic manner to environmental stressors, challenging client behaviors and multiple demands of working in a pediatric setting.
  6. Collaborate with families for identification of occupational therapy needs and prioritization of treatment goals and plans with provision of written guidance to caregivers as appropriate.
  7. All documentation reflects the following criteria: it is thorough, objective, pertinent, organized, free from grammatical errors, concise, readable for multiple audiences and adheres to department, the Institute, AOTA and Maryland OT guidelines.
  8. Actively collaborate in inter/intra- disciplinary and supervisory relationships; demonstrating initiation, effective listening and good judgment to manage caseload.
  9. May supervise affiliating level I and/or level II students, COTA, Rehab Techs and/or visitors and fosters professional development of supervisee.
  10. Perform setup and clean-up of treatment supplies and treatment space and adhere to all policies and procedures related to safety and infection control guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Written approval of short term career trajectory which defines areas of clinical/research/admin interest
  • Must possess and maintain licensure to practice Occupational Therapy in the state of Maryland.
  • Successful completion of national registration exam.
  • *Individual must demonstrate competence across all age groups due to the diversity of the children and families served by the Institute.
  • *Clinical care focus is on the neonate, pediatric, and adolescent populations, as well as some adults with disabilities.

EDUCATION:

  • Graduate of an accredited program in Occupational Therapy with a minimum basic Masters in Occupational Therapy.

.EXPERIENCE:

  • Three years’ licensed OT experience with a focus on population served at Kennedy Krieger, with a minimum of two years of pediatric/rehab specialty.

USD $61,845.00/Hr.

Maximum pay range
