Overview

The Product Owner is responsible for gathering information about relevant processes, specifications, and requirements for Digital Transformation projects, and then translating those requirements for technical development staff.  The incumbent will also manage the overall project and assist with development tasks as needed and appropriate.

Responsibilities

1.  Works with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure that all relevant business practices and workflows are appropriately documented, translated, and relayed to the appropriate stakeholders.
2. Collects project goals and requirements to determine and refine project scope and codifies those decisions in the project charter and Business Requirements Document (BRD).
3. Creates, refines, and shares process flow diagrams representing current state and desired future state for projects.
4. Works with technical resources to develop technical documentation (e.g., Entity Relationship Diagrams, Sequence Diagrams, Use Case Diagrams, System and Data Integration Diagrams, etc.)
5. Works with project development teams to ensure that all requirements are understood and translated
6. Facilitates productive, professional, and collaborative communication between all project stakeholders. Coordinates meetings for all project stakeholders. Documents and shares meeting notes and action items post-meeting.
7. Ensures the execution of deliverables and that they adhere to quality standards.
8. Maintains orderly and transparent systems for storing, referencing, and updating project templates and artifacts.
9. Performs analysis on projects to identify and address risks and opportunities throughout the project life cycle and employs the appropriate action plan and/or escalation path to address them in collaboration with other project stakeholders.
10. Ensures all project activities and outputs comply with the Data Use and Security Policy, HIPAA regulations, and all user/access management policies.
11. Coordinates and facilitates project vendor communications to ensure that vendor activities and interactions are timely and productive.
12. Coordinates all necessary purchasing and contract management activities for projects.
13. Collaborates with technical experts and stakeholders to document, translate, and communicate technological aspects of projects such as hardware infrastructure, software needs, data for key performance indicators (KPIs), and general technical support for managed projects.
14. Tracks and reports on project progress to all stakeholders on a regular basis. Tracks and reports on project outcomes such as return on investment (ROI) and impacts on KPI metrics.
15. Collaborates with project stakeholders to identify, document, and operationalize lessons learned.
16. As needed, assists with technical tasks such as developing data collection tools and reports.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:
• PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) must be attained within 6 months of hire.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

EDUCATION:
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Healthcare, or Business required.
• Master’s degree preferred.


EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience required, to include:
o At least 1 year working in a healthcare organization
o At least 1 year coordinating tasks across multiple individuals/groups on long-term projects
o At least 3 years in a role requiring work with data or supporting and/or developing applications
