Overview

The Psychology Associate I will assist with administering and scoring psychological and neuropsychological tests for both clinical and research services; help with the oversight of departmental inventory and purchasing of test materials and books; and support other triage and preauthorization needs. The incumbent will comply with state regulations governing Psychology Associates. Principal responsibilities will be for ages, birth through young adult. The incumbent will assist the supervising Neuropsychologist and Clinical Director with administrative duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  1. Administer and score psychological and neuropsychological tests, under appropriate supervision, for individuals referred for both clinical services and research projects.
  2. Provide training for department, Institute staff, and trainees in administration and scoring of psychological tests for clinical and research purposes as needed.
  3. Manage the inventory of psychological test materials for the CASSI (CASSI) Neuropsychology, for all clinical sites. Order and receive tests as needed on an ongoing basis.
  4. Enter clinical and research data into study and departmental databases, spreadsheets, and Epic flowsheets.
  5. Prepare insurance pre-authorizations for patients as needed.
  6. Write behavioral observations and other sections of clinical reports, under appropriate supervision, as needed.
  7. Assist in the development of performance improvement and research initiatives.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have Maryland Board of Examiners of Psychologists approval to practice as “Registered Psychology Associate” or qualify for Psychology Associate licensure required.

 

EDUCATION:

MA/MS in psychology from an accredited college or university required.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Some previous experience with pediatric populations required.
  • Experience working with children with developmental disabilities OR supervised practicum experiences during the educational program for the Master’s degree.
  • Experience administering neuro/psychological measures OR supervised practicum experiences during the educational program for the Master’s degree.
