This position is 40 hours per week, working Monday through Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm in the Outpatient Clinics. 3 Years of Experience Required.

Responsibilities

  • · Serves as a receptionist for the Outpatient Department (OPD).
  • · Has great customer service skills.
  • · Demonstrates cultural competence.
  • · Triages incoming calls and relays the information to the appropriate person.
  • · Assists in providing patients and families with needed scheduling information and Institute directions.
  • · Prints specimen labels (computerized and addressograph).
  • · Prepares and maintains outpatient packets specific to each medical clinic.
  • · Obtains patient charts from Health Information Management (HIM) as needed.
  • · Inventories and orders stationery for the OPD.
  • · Maintains Nurses Station area in a neat, clean, and organized fashion.
  • · Stamps all necessary outpatient paperwork with patient’s plate.
  • · Copies and posts clinic schedules in OPD and updates daily clinic schedule as changes occur.
  • · Drafts memos, policies and procedures, staff meeting minutes, and other communications for the OPD.
  • · Xeroxes needed reports, charts, and pertinent information as requested by the OPD nursing staff or physicians.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED required

Experience: Three years’ experience as a receptionist/secretary, preferably in a medical setting, required.
