the EDI Outreach Coordinator will support and engage a diverse population of participants while focusing on studying autism, its causes, and treatments. In addition to supporting other research projects, this position will primarily focus on the SPARK project that aims to recruit individuals with autism and their family members. The incumbent will help form and facilitate community partnerships, support inclusive research practices, and implement strategies for fostering a study population that is representative of our catchment area.


  1. Provide and present research opportunities to community partners with particular focus on underrepresented communities.
  2. Research, create, and maintain community connections with underrepresented populations.
  3. Report findings to the research team and department leadership.
  4. Provide research project support for community events and meetings. 
  5. Travel to community sites and present research opportunities. 
  6. Serve as a liaison and resource to community partners and families for research opportunities at Center for Autism & Related Disorders (CARD).
  7. Support project management of equity, diversity, and inclusion activities at CARD.
  8. Support and raise general awareness of social justice issues and a variety of population groups. (i.e., people of color, LGBTQ+ allies, religious and/or spiritually-identified people, Gen Zers, Millennials, Gen Xers, Baby Boomers, people who are differently abled, etc.).



  • Bachelor’s is required.


  • Master’s degree in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) related areas of study is preferred.



  • A minimum of 2 years of working with diverse populations and communities that have been historically marginalized and underrepresented.
  • Experience in project management, organizing, event planning, intercultural education, training, facilitating, presenting, etc. is preferred.
  • Experience in related research, data collection, and tracking is preferred.
