  • Overview

    the Research Assistant II (Data Management) for the Rehabilitation Continuum of Care team will be responsible for scoring parent- and self-report clinical questionnaires; data/database management, assist with preliminary data analysis to support evidence-based clinical practice and clinical research projects; assist in the development and programming of novel systems to manage dataflow and workflow throughout the Department; and maintain system security, including data backup and restoration. The RA II (Data Management) will assist with manuscript preparation, grant support, and  IRB submissions.  The specialist will serve as the data liaison between clinical outcomes and future Data Management Team. 

    Responsibilities

    1. Score parent- and self-report clinical questionnaires completed in the course of the clinical operations.
    2. Enter clinical test scores and other data into databases. 
    3. Collaborate with Kennedy Krieger departments in development and maintenance of Clinical Database in collaboration with Epic and other Data Management groups.
    4. Query Databases to generate limited/de-identified data sets for investigators after appropriate approval.
    5. Organize, tabulate, and summarize data sets for statistical analysis by rehab continuum clinicians and research faculty, and assist with preliminary data analysis.  
    6. Design, develop, and maintain effective online data collection systems using appropriate software (e.g., Qualtrics, Sharepoint) for studies within the Neuropsychology Department, as well as departmental seminar and CE evaluations, including generating and distributing summary reports of responses.
    7. Create databases and generate data forms in accordance with clinic needs and research study design, ensuring that databases and all data records are stored according to HIPAA and IRB requirements within our Data Management system to include Epic.
    8. Prepare and submit materials for IRB applications and renewals.
    9. Assist the AVP of Quality Improvement and Research and Director of Data Management with other clinical data tasks as needed.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION:

    • BA/BS in a clinical or health related field is required
    • Coursework in statistics, experimental research, database management, and/or programming are required.
    • Masters in a clinical, health related, or public health field preferred.

     

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Must have experience manipulating datasets in a clinical or research setting
    • Must have experience with basic statistical analysis
    • Must have experience creating and managing databases
