the Manager, Medical Program Operations, oversees specified medical programs of the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) and EEG/PSG clinical laboratories. This position will support the Vice President of Medical Programs by consulting with finance, human resources, and other supporting departments as necessary to accomplish the goals set by the Medical Leadership.



  1. Develop and optimize administrative systems to include, but not be limited to, business processes, work flow, and standard operating procedures that will improve operating efficiencies, increase productivity and revenue, improve patient services, and better support the clinical, training, and research within the specified medical programs.
  2. Supervise assigned staff including, but not limited to, recruiting, hiring, performance management, professional education, and progressive discipline up to and including termination.
  3. Analyze staffing resources and allocate resources in a manner that is fiscally responsible while ensuring that the clinical, training, and research within the specified medical programs are properly staffed. Ensure faculty members and medical staff is receiving appropriate levels of support.
  4. Work directly with the respective Medical Director(s) to ensure efficient operations of assigned programs, including monitoring room scheduling, equipment, and physical space upgrades.
  5. Liaise with finance, human resources, information systems, care centers, care management, and other support departments to meet the daily operating needs of the specified medical program(s), and to ensure compliance with all Institute, State, and Federal policies, rules, laws and regulations.
  6. Stay up to date on published standards of epilepsy and sleep inpatient protocols, and implement adjustments at the direction of the Medical Director(s).
  7. Analyze budgetary trends and make recommendations for proper adjustments to the respective program directors, and attends/represents with respective Program Directors and Medical Leadership at all research, clinical, operational, and budget-related meetings.
  8. Oversee the preparation and submission of all respective direct report budgets inclusive of budgets for which this position is directly responsible for submitting.  
  9. Execute and manage (revisions, tracking, invoicing) all Clinical Services Agreements for external physicians and/or residents participating in respective programs of responsibility.
  10. Maintain personnel performance management systems to include meeting regularly with subordinate personnel, review performance, creating development plans, and completing initial evaluation/annual Performance Reviews.
  11. Develop and maintain data tracking systems.



  • High school diploma or GED required
  • BA/BS preferred.



  • 2 years of related experience required
