  • Overview

    the  Research Assistant II will coordinate and implement on-going pediatric research studies, including recruiting, screening, parent interviews, scheduling, and testing of children, and will manage and analyze data collected as part of these studies. 

    Responsibilities

    1. Interview potential research families and assist in determining individual eligibility to participate in various research studies.
    2. Meet with the parent and/or guardian of the research participant and go over the consents for the various research studies. Schedule appointments for research study participants to come in for behavioral testing and to receive Neuroimaging scans.
    3. Assist with neuropsychological / psychoeducational testing of research participants.
    4. Design and maintain database of study participants and their current status.
    5. Score, code, enter, and verify research data.
    6. Responsible for day-to-day supervision of students to ensure quality control of research data.
    7. Train other research staff and students in the various research protocols.
    8. Attend and actively participate in weekly research meetings involving, but not limited to, grant preparation, manuscript preparation, data management, IRB issues, quality control, and protocol development/revision.
    9. Author and co-author research papers and presentations. This work will require formulating ideas, conducting literature searches, and statistical analysis of neuropsychological and neuroimaging data.
    10. Active participation in correspondence with the Institutional Review Board (IRB) involving, but not limited to, preparation of research study applicants and consent forms, and management of renewal and revision for approved studies.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION:

    • B.A./B.S. in education, psychology, or neuroscience required.
    • MA/MS preferred.

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Experience with pediatric populations is required.
