Overview

the Occupational Therapist II is responsible for evaluation, planning, delivery and supervision of therapy programs for patients in the Community Rehabilitation program.  The Occupational Therapist II will participate in intra-disciplinary and interdisciplinary training for students, staff and community agencies, and will provide clinical supervision to students and aides and provide family and patient training.  Develops and/or coordinates patient and staff education programs within area of specialty and assures continuity in clinical and patient education programs and demonstrates leadership and high level of expertise in their specialty area.

 

Flexible hours for someone willing to treat in the patient's home.  Potential to increase hours in the upcoming year.

 

Responsibilities

  1. Evaluate assigned patients; plan programs; execute, supervise, and document programs as planned.
  2. Provide instruction to families regarding home care.
  3. Maintain written documentation, including patient reports, progress reports, and attendance records, according to current procedures of the program, department and Institute.
  4. Effectively function within an interdisciplinary team.
  5. Supervise affiliating students and clinical staff as assigned.
  6. Participate in intradisciplinary and interdisciplinary activities.
  7. Function within department and institute policies and procedures.
  8. Assist in care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
  9. Participate in planning and execution of programs for personal professional growth and development.

Qualifications

 

EDUCATION:

  • Graduate of an accredited program in occupational therapy.
  • Must have successfully completed the national registration examination and be eligible for licensure to practice Occupational therapy in the State of Maryland.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Three years licensed experience in Occupational Therapy with at least two years documented experience in area of specialty.
  • Experience in pediatrics and/or rehabilitation and treatment preferred.
