    the Care Center Specialist II - Bilingual will perform front end clinical operations activities which include, but are not limited to: scheduling, registration, cashiering, charge entry, and routine financial counseling activities in the Family Center. The Care Center Specialist II will interact with patients, families, clinicians, and administrative staff in a courteous and professional manner, while placing an emphasis on adhering to high standards of customer service. This position requires the incumbent to be bilingual in Spanish and English with a proficiency level that meets the Institutes minimum standards. 

    Responsibilities

    1. Ability to operate all systems of the Care Center and to perform each and any duty in an efficient, accurate and productive manner.
    2. Schedules all new and follow up clients using the scheduling system and works with providers to ensure proper scheduling related to the client’s needs. Maintains provider schedules for completeness and keeps them aware of changes.
    3. Coordinate, process, and input intake information into all necessary programs for multi-service, mental health clinic.
    4. Responds to family, client and clinic issues in a timely and professional manner. Seeks assistance when necessary, obtains answers and brings closure to outstanding issues.
    5. Responsible for the accurate and timely accounting of all collected cash and payments at the Care Center. Any discrepancies are to be identified and immediately communicated to the Care Center supervisor.
    6. Maintains complete and accurate demographic information in the AS400 and the Routematch systems.
    7. Collects and processes all superbills generated for the clinic on a daily basis and checks for quality assurance.
    8. Alerts clinical staff 30 days in advance of due date for new insurance authorization.
    9. Reviews and interprets insurance information reflected in AS400 and IAMS scheduling system,-making sure only billable services are scheduled.
    10. Maintains updated general understanding of insurance requirements which can be explained to clients upon request.
    11. Obtain required signatures and all clinical and financial documentation in accordance with Joint Commission standards.
    12. Provide accurate and timely follow-up appointments for patients.

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bilingual in English and Spanish with a proficiency level that meets the Institutes minimum standards. Able to speak Spanish fluently with ease and confidence in a variety of topics related to work, home, leisure activities, as well as events of current, public or personal interest or individual relevance. Able to convey intended message with accuracy, clarity and precision without misrepresentation or confusion while being readily understood by native speakers.
    • Working knowledge of computer based registration, scheduling and charge entry systems.

     

    EDUCATION:

    • AA degree in human services related field or healthcare administration highly desirable.

     

    EXPERIENCE:

    ·       2 years experience coordinating and operating patient services
