    the Research Assistant I will work with people and with databases. The incumbent is responsible for conducting eligibility screenings and evaluations; participating in recruitment events and assisting the development of innovative recruitment strategies. Responsibilities also include assisting research participants with the registration process; and maintaining the participant database for accurate follow-up and completion.

    Responsibilities

    1. Enter data into databases and monitor for trends that inform recruitment.
    2. Obtain and track medical records for research subjects.
    3. Assist Coordinator with writing up procedure sheets for research protocols along with developing data sheets, and other research related forms.
    4. Conduct telephone screening interviews to determine research participant eligibility and track eligibility data.
    5. Assist with care of siblings of child being tested when parents are participating in evaluation.
    6. Assist with collection of all study related data (e.g., participant registration, saliva collection, etc.)
    7. Assist Coordinator or Tester with subject recruitment activities (mailings, posting fliers, follow-up phone calls, contacting outside agencies, etc.)
    8. Assist with manuscript and grant preparations by conducting literature searches, developing bibliography and reference pages, and editing, and formatting documents.
    9. Assist with developing databases and tracking data.
    10. Assist with maintaining the relationships with collaborating sites in which the study will be conducted.
    11. Assist with the development and coordination of recruitment events for the study.
    12. Assist with the set-up/breakdown of recruitment events and community out- reach events.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor’s degree is required.
    • Master’s degree is preferred.

     

    EXPERIENCE:

    • This is an entry level position, however, related research experience (administering standardized assessments) is preferred.
    • Treatment experience with preschool aged individuals with autism.
