    the Care Center Specialist I will perform front end clinical operations activities which include, but are not limited to: scheduling, registration, cashiering, charge entry, and routine financial counseling activities. The Care Center Specialist I will interact with patients, families, clinicians, and administrative staff in a courteous and professional manner, while placing an emphasis on adhering to high standards of customer service.  

    Responsibilities

    1. Ensures that accurate information is entered into the system for registration, scheduling, treatment room availability, missed visit notes and charge entries.
    2. Accesses system information from the Care Management Office efficiently (i.e. insurance authorizations, treatment plans and patient referrals).
    3. Informs therapists when treatment plans are due in a timely manner and provides therapists with an initial treatment plan template for all new, eligible patients. Completes scheduled/kept portion of treatment plan for each quarter.
    4. Answers phones and greets families, patients and visitors in a positive and professional manner.
    5. Accurately registers families, schedules appointments and posts payments; while maintaining patient flow at the front desk.
    6. Obtains all necessary and required signatures for all clinical and financial documentation.
    7. Provides accurate and timely follow-up appointments for patients and collaborates with CMO when issues arise.
    8. With knowledge and understanding of the basic business requirements of the Department, serves as a liaison between the Department, the Care Center, the CMO and customers. May act as a back-up for other Care Center staff.
    9. Maintains uninterrupted patient flow while completing all required tasks in an accurate manner.
    10. Tracks, collects and processes quality improvement and patient tracking data.
    11. Sets priorities and expectations in a manner understandable to both users and management with sensitivity to the needs of others.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION:

    • High School Diploma or GED required.
    • AA degree in human services related field or healthcare administration preferred.

    EXPERIENCE:

    ·       At least one year experience coordinating and operating patient systems.
