    THIS RN WILL WORK MONDAY AND THURSDAY, 8:00AM-5:00PM AND TUESDAY AND FRIDAY, 9:00AM-6:00PM

     

    The Clinical Nurse II provides direct care and care coordination for assigned children, staff and family education, and assists with daily routines of the childcare setting. The Clinical Nurse II participates as an interdisciplinary team member and advocates for the child as indicated with all care providers at the center and within the local community. The center is located in Woodlawn, MD.

     

    Responsibilities

    1. Performs daily nursing assessment and all medical care/observations for assigned children by adhering to quality standards of nursing care.
    2. Implements all medical, health, and emergency procedures as per center guidelines with direction from PACT Nurse Coordinator and Program Director.
    3. Provides nursing/medical updates, medication reconciliation, and 2-3 nursing priorities for assigned children as per quarterly reporting guidelines (every 90 days).
    4. Requests and reviews medical orders and immunization updates every 6 months and on a regular basis as new orders are reported, received, or immunizations are administered.
    5. Evaluates assessment and medical kardex records on a daily basis to ensure they are accurate and completed/signed off.
    6. Maintains weekly communication with PACT Nurse Coordinator for new or ongoing concerns.
    7. Supports PACT Nurse Coordinator in ensuring adequate nursing coverage throughout the center on a daily basis and within budgetary limits.
    8. Orients, trains, and supervises PACT staff (nursing, teachers, nursing students, medical residents, social work interns, childcare staff, and volunteers) to the nursing practice at PACT, educating staff about the medical conditions and care of many children encountered at PACT.
    9. Provides training, education, and support for families and staff at PACT and in the surrounding communities regarding the care of children with varied medical conditions.   
    10. Assumes all responsibilities for medical issues and treatments in the absence of the Nurse Coordinator and/or Outpatient Nurse Manager.
    11. Ensures the physical environment of the nursing areas of PACT is maintained in an organized, neat, safe, and fully-equipped manner.

     

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION:

    • Current unencumbered registered nurse licensure in the State of Maryland.
    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred).

     

    EXPERIENCE:

       

    • Minimum of two years pediatric experience required.
    • Minimum of two years experience in providing direct services to children with special needs preferred.
    • Candidate must demonstrate competence across all age groups due to the diversity of the children and families served at PACT including some adults/caretakers with disabilities.
