    the Research Coordinator in the Motion Analysis Lab will assist with research studies of children and adults with movement disorders from neurological damage (e.g., cerebellar ataxia, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, and multiple sclerosis). Duties include, but are not limited to, assisting with obtaining Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval, recruiting and testing subjects, and developing software to capture and analyze data. The Research Coordinator has wide range of administrative and research related responsibilities and may be involved with the intellectual aspects of research as well.

    Responsibilities

    1. Test study subjects using computerized motion analysis, tone assessment, and strength testing devices.
    2. Perform various types of data analysis, including: gait analysis, tone analysis, and strength analysis.
    3. Assist with development of software for capturing and analyzing data gathered from studies of motor disorders.
    4. Task development and programming of federally funded studies of motor disorders associated with neurological damage.
    5. Assist with equipment maintenance.
    6. Assist with coordination and recruitment of research subjects.
    7. Assist with developing and obtaining IRB approval for new experimental protocols.
    8. Attend scientific conferences and meetings.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or related field required.
    • Master’s degree preferred.

     

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Must have a minimum of two years of related research experience.
    • Must have experience in biomedical research.
