    the Research Assistant assists and collaborates with the PI and research collaborators in reaching research goals in the Brain Injury Clinical Research Center (BI CRC).   Diverse technology and research goals of the BI CRC require the Research Assistant to be adaptable, flexible, and responsible for performing diverse duties related to collecting, analyzing and archiving data.  This position involves data collection and analysis duties including but not limited to participant recruitment and evaluation and analysis of behavioral, anatomical and/or functional neuroimaging data. 

    Responsibilities

    1. Assists with research participant recruitment, enrollment, and scheduling.
    2. Assists with research participant testing, scoring, coding, and verification of research data.
    3. Assists with creation and maintenance of research databases.
    4. Works as part of a research team to carry out mock scans, acquire structural and functional MRI scans, and analyze MRI data.
    5. Performs single subject and group analysis of neuroimaging, behavioral and physiological data.
    6. Manages archives of ongoing brain scan study data. Archives unprocessed behavioral data, and generates and compiles statistical data.
    7. Assists with tDCS administration, electrogoniometer finger sequencing and EEG sessions.
    8. Assists with overseeing work of students involved in behavior and MRI data coding and analysis.
    9. Attends weekly research meetings and assists with grant preparation, manuscript preparation, quality control issues, and protocol development or revision.

    Qualifications

     

    EDUCATION:

    • Bachelors’ degree required
    • Bachelors’ degree in a science related field (e.g., biology, neuroscience, psychology, biomedical engineering, computer science, or physics) preferred.

     

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Must have at least one (1) years’ experience working in a research laboratory.
