    the Mobile Device Support Specialist (iPad) is responsible for the efficient, technical management of an evolving, school-based mobile device (iPad, etc.) environment.  Uses a variety of tools to deploy, track, and maintain mobile device hardware, software, and digital content, in order to support the educational needs of staff and students.  Performs regular hardware and software updates, and provides troubleshooting and technical support services for mobile devices.  Maintains accurate inventory records for company owned assets.  Stays current in the field in order to develop and implement environment growth strategies.  This employee is also responsible for assisting the LAN Administrator in the support of the user community and the research and resolution of user oriented problems.

    Responsibilities

    1. Work with iTunes, Apple Configurator, Apple Volume Purchase Program, and AirWatch MDM to manage student and staff mobile device hardware, software, and digital content.
    2. Coordinate and perform mobile device OS and software installations and updates as needed to support educational outcomes, including determining appropriateness of requested applications, confirmation of appropriate funding and coordinating the availability of devices within specific programs.
    3. Monitor current inventory of all mobile device hardware, software, and digital content owned by the Kennedy Krieger School Programs.
    4. Provide hands-on troubleshooting and technical support for iPads and other mobile devices.
    5. Oversee mobile device software and digital content procurement, licensing, and distribution. Ensure compliance with school policies and vendor licensing agreements.
    6. Oversee mobile device hardware management cycle including procurement, preparation, deployment, repair, replacement, and retirement.
    7. Remain current with knowledge of mobile device management best-practices.
    8. Develop and implement mobile device management environment growth strategies.
    9. Generate or maintain clear and concise records, documentation, statistics, reports, and other information used for decision-making and analysis, upon request.
    10. Interact and exchange information with Kennedy Krieger Institute’s Information System personnel to maintain and support mobile device management infrastructure.
    11. Assist LAN Administrators in providing hardware and software support to Kennedy Krieger School Programs.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION:

    • High School diploma, or equivalent, is required.
    • Bachelor’s degree(s) in computer science, information systems, or related field is preferred.

     

    EXPERIENCE:

    • At least two years of relevant experience in an Apple-centric environment providing troubleshooting and end-user technical support is required.
    • Previous experience in an educational setting is preferred.
