The Progam Aide staff support the teachers who serve a varied population of students with disabilities. The staff member assists with the implementation of the program as outlined in the IEP of each student. This staff member assists with adapting instruction that meets the individual academic, medical, developmental, and technological needs of the students. In accordance with the classroom assignment, this individual will provide 1:1 supervision and instruction to students in the classroom and during off-campus community-based instruction.

We want to enable students to reach their potential in all aspects of life – academically, socially and behaviorally – and help lead them toward the ultimate goal of nurturing their independence now and in the future.
Our curriculum focuses on building essential skills based on standards and curricula identified by the Maryland State Department of Education. Students receive ongoing instruction in reading/English language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, physical education, health, music, fine arts and career development.
We are a nonpublic special education day program approved by the Maryland State Department of Education. We operate on an 11-month program schedule.
By the end of the employee’s initial evaluation period, every individual must meet “No Child Left Behind” Legislation standards for highly qualified staff as defined as any one of the following: 1.) possession of an AA Degree, or 2.) completion of two years of college equivalence (minimum 48 credits), or 3.) a passing score on the state exam for highly qualified staff.
Previous experience working with children with developmental disabilities is highly preferred.
