the Research Assistant II carries out scientific studies of cellular mechanisms of neuronal injury in the developing brain with Dr. Wilson in the Neuroscience Laboratory. The Research Assistant II is able to read and understand the scientific literature, carry out experiments, plan experiments, analyze data and make presentations to others about the work. A strong background in neuroscience, biology and chemistry as well as previous lab experience is required. The ability to grasp the rationale for the methods used and careful attention to details of the protocols are important for success. A high level of responsibility, flexibility, and independence are required to carry out the diverse duties of this position.
