The Care Center Specialist I will perform front end clinical operations activities which include, but are not limited to: scheduling, registration, cashiering, charge entry, and routine financial counseling activities.  The Care Center Specialist will interact with patients, families, clinicians, and administrative staff in a courteous and professional manner, while placing an emphasis on adhering to high standards of customer service.

 

Responsibilities

  1. Ability to operate basic systems of the Care Center and to perform each and any duty in an efficient, accurate and productive manner.
  2. Responsible for the accurate and timely accounting for all collected cash and payments at the Care Center. Any discrepancies are to be identified and immediately communicated to the Senior Care Center Specialist.
  3. Ensure complete and accurate information is entered into the registration, scheduling and charge entry system
  4. Obtain all necessary and required signatures for any and all clinical and financial documentation.
  5. Provide accurate and timely follow-up appointments for patients.
  6. Maintain an updated general understanding of insurance requirements as they related to the collection of accurate information at the Care Center and allowing the ability to assess system information from Care Management Office (CMO), such as information related to insurance authorization for patient services.
  7. Respond to family, patient and clinic issues in a timely and professional manner. Seek assistance, as necessary, when obtaining answers and closure to outstanding issues.
  8. Assists Care Center Specialist II, Senior Care Center Specialists and Senior Coordinator with scheduling and special projects.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • AA degree in human services related field or healthcare administration highly desirable.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Two years experience coordinating and operating patient services.
