the Care Center Specialist III will perform front end clinical operations activities which include, but are not limited to scheduling, registration, cashiering, charge entry, and routine financial counseling activities in various departments and Care Centers. This position will interact with patients, families, clinicians, and administrative staff in a courteous and professional manner, while placing an emphasis on adherence to delivering high standards of customer service.  Several of the children and families will be Spanish speaking and the Care Center Specialist III will be expected to communicate with them in Spanish.

Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate, process, and input intake information into all necessary programs for the multi-service, mental health clinic. Interacts with families and clients, some of whom will be Spanish speaking.
  2. Accurate and timely accounting of all collected cash and payments at the Care Center. Any discrepancies are to be identified and immediately communicated to the Care Center supervisor.
  3. Ensure complete and accurate information is entered into the registration, scheduling and charge entry system.
  4. Obtain all necessary and required signatures for any and all clinical and financial documentation.
  5. Provide accurate and timely follow-up appointments for patients.
  6. Maintain and stay up-to-date of all insurance requirements so that needed and accurate information is collected for the specific Care Center.
  7. Access system information related to insurance authorization for patient services from the Care Management Office (CMO) to ensure that only authorized and billable patients are scheduled for appointments.
  8. Respond to families, patients, co-workers and other KKI business partners regarding clinic issues in a timely and professional manner.
  9. Seek assistance, as necessary, in order to provide timely and accurate information and to ensure accurate and timely completion of all outstanding issues.
  10. Perform related Care Center and/or administrative duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. AA degree in human services related field or healthcare administration preferred. 

 

EXPERIENCE:

·       Two (2) years’ experience coordinating and operating patient services.
