this staff member will supervise Project Search classrooms and oversee the development and provision of postsecondary services. The Director of Postsecondary Services provides direct and indirect supervision to staff providing instruction in Project Search classrooms, other postsecondary school settings and community based settings. The incumbent collaborates with Educational Directors and other program administrators to ensure alignment with the needs of current secondary school students preparing for postsecondary placement and business partners to establish postsecondary placements.  The Director of Postsecondary Services will maintain contact with all pertinent agencies-both state and federal- responsible for funding postsecondary placements and will ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements. 


  1. Develop and supervise postsecondary education settings and staff  working in them
  2. Implement Project Search programming
  3. Establish and supervise alternative programming for  adults with disabilities not enrolled in Project Search
  4. Collaborate with Community Service Providers to implement postsecondary programming
  5. Collaborate with appropriate state agencies to implement postsecondary programming
  6. Develop and maintain work opportunities and internships within community business partners
  7. Collaborate with Local School System representatives to identify student interns for Project Search
  8. Maintain expertise in all aspects of postsecondary funding for adults with disabilities
  9. Collaborate with Secondary School Administrators and Admissions, Compliance, and Transition (ACT) leaders to ensure appropriate placements for secondary school students entering Kennedy Krieger Schools postsecondary programs
  10. Develop and maintain systems of data collection and reporting to evaluate and provide improvement to Kennedy Krieger Schools postsecondary settings
  11. Remain current in best practice for postsecondary education for adults with disabilities
  12. Communicate regularly with Special Education administration regarding all aspects of postsecondary programming



Master’s Degree in Special Education, Vocational Rehabilitation or related field is required.



  • Minimum of five years of experience in special education or vocational rehabilitation required, including the supervision of educational programming
  • Specific experience working with state agencies and local school systems is highly preferred.
