The Clinical Specialist I will provide on-site clinical services for Behavioral Psychology Department patients based on principles of applied behavior analysis to reduce child problem behaviors and increase adaptive skills.  Provide parent, teacher and staff training and monitor the effectiveness and implementation of behavioral protocols in community settings.

Responsibilities

  1. Assist in the development of individual assessment and treatment Conceptualize assessment and treatment plans and contribute during daily supervision sessions to overall development of the case.
  2. Case Management – Responsible for case duties in accordance with protocols established by case leadership including, but not limited to, 1) conducting sessions, 2) coordination of admissions and/or follow-up with inpatient team, 3) time management, 3) data collection, 4) implementation of protocol, 5) assisting with protocol development, and 6) protocol
  3. Parent training – provide training for parent, teachers and/or staff; insure protocols are carried out Provide diplomatic (appropriate) and corrective feedback.   Demonstrate sensitivity to parent concerns. Provide timely updates to supervisory staff.
  4. Interdisciplinary skills– initiate and maintain contact with KKI disciplines and outside agencies (schools, social workers). Incorporate feedback from other professionals into assessment and treatment   Provide timely training to other professionals.
  5. Data Management – Responsible for data management in accordance with protocols established by case leadership including, but not limited to, 1) Developing data collection systems for parents, teachers and/or staff, 2) Obtaining follow-up data in a timely manner, 3) maintain up-to-date graphs, 4) analyzing data, 5) organizing and presenting data in ways that facilitate accurate
  6. Documentation – Timely and thorough completion of evaluation reports, progress notes and
  7. Problem solving –Anticipate problems and develop alternative strategies for solving Generate solutions independently and in conjunction with case manager.
  8. Public presentation – Alter presentation according to Conceptualize information and succinctly summarize for audience. Answer questions relating to conceptualization of case (e.g., methodology) or practical issues.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working with the developmentally disabled population or children with behavioral disorders is required.
  • Previous training in applied behavior analysis and theoretical understanding and philosophical appreciation for behavioral intervention in a clinical setting is required.
