the Research Assistant I will work with people and with databases. This person will assist with research data management and with implementation of research protocols conducted with children with and without autism spectrum disorders, their families, and school professionals.

 

Responsibilities

  1. Assist with implementation of research projects in accordance with the funding agency’s award statement, including implementation of aspects of study protocols.
  2. Assist with the acquisition and maintenance of data collected in school-based contexts to include but not limited to videotaping, gathering forms, transferring data, and data reduction.
  3. Ensure that fidelity and reliability on data acquisition, reduction, and transfer are maintained within the standards of the project and with senior team members.
  4. Route data to the data team within specified timeframes.
  5. Inventory test kits for proper contents, conduct equipment checks.
  6. Assist with the preparing of presentations to internal and external outside agencies for educational and recruitment purposes.
  7. Assist with distribution of information to participants and potential participants (mailings, posting fliers, contacting families and outside agencies, etc.).
  8. Document and communicate with Project Coordinators about factors that could affect data interpretation.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in psychology, education, or related field preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE:

This is an entry level position, however, related research experience with the public; young children with/without autism spectrum disorder and/or developmental disabilities; and experience implementing research protocols in an academic research laboratory preferred.
