FOR A LIMITED TIME, KENNEDY KRIEGER IS OFFERING A $2,500 SIGN ON BONUS FOR FULL TIME, CERTIFIED SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGISTS FOR THIS VACANCY

 

The Speech Language Pathologist III will provide direct patient care for assessing and treating communication (i.e. speech/language), oral motor, and feeding/swallowing disorders: administering department and program functions; maintaining documentation relative to services offered: and participating in intra and interdisciplinary training programs. The Speech Language Pathologist III will develop models for service delivery and evaluation, plan and conduct research activities, review and interpret literature and disseminate those findings through formal and informal presentations, all with regard to their own area of documented specialization. 

Responsibilities

  1. Provide functional communication (i.e., speech/language), oral motor, and feeding/swallowing assessment or treatment, with consideration to patients and families’ needs and interest.
  2. Supervise graduate students, clinical fellows, certified staff (concordant with level of experience and expertise).
  3. Administer one or more departmental and program function (e.g. outpatient program, quality assurance activities), and coordinating and directing other staff participating in that activity.
  4. Maintain documentation consistent with Institute and Department expectations for all activities, as well as guidelines by The Joint Commission, CARF and ASHA.
  5. Participate in intra-disciplinary and interdisciplinary activities relative to patient care (e.g., team conferences and professional training (e.g., staff development activities).
  6. Maintain appropriate professional affiliations for state and national licensure/certification as well as following standards set forth by the Institute and the Program.
  7. Participate in departmental activities and outreach activities in the community (e.g., presentations, service on committees).
  8. Assist supervisor in setting and implementing goals for professional growth and development.
  9. Develops models for the delivery and evaluation of services, OR plans and conducts research activities within specialty area.
  10. Research, review, and interpret literature related to certification/specialty area and disseminates that knowledge to internal and external audiences through formal and informal presentations and training.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology, with related clinical requirements.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology granted by the American Speech Language and Hearing Association.
  • Eligible for Maryland State Licensure in Speech Language Pathology.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Four years licensed experience in Speech Language Pathology (including CFY), at least three of which must be in a documented specialty area.
